Financial statements
Create a financial statement
Start a Year-End Close form with the correct tax year, reporting period, and optional rollover.
A financial statement belongs to a client and reporting period. Create the client first, then collect the available documents and accounting data before starting the form.
Create the form
- Open the client.
- Go to Year-End Close.
- Select New Form.
- Choose Financial Statement.
- Set the Tax year, Label, and Reporting date.
- For a long or short fiscal year, enable the corresponding option and enter the Start date.
- Review any available prior-year rollover option.
- Create the form.
The Tax year field may default to the previous calendar year. Do not rely on that default: confirm it against the client’s statutory reporting period. The reporting and start dates determine the period represented by the statement.
Long or short fiscal years
Use the long-or-short-year option when the period does not cover a normal twelve-month fiscal year. Enter the actual start and reporting dates from the client records. This is especially important for a first period, a changed year end, a merger, or a liquidation period.
Prior-year rollover
The rollover option appears only when the feature is enabled and Didyma finds a compatible finalized statement for the preceding period. The source fiscal year is shown before creation.
A rollover can bring prior-close data and mappings into the new form, but it does not replace the current-year close. Check every rolled-forward value and mapping against the new period. Read Use a prior-year rollover before selecting it.
After creation
Didyma opens the new form at the start of the statement workflow. Continue with Import financial data, then work through the statement steps.
If the form has already been finalized, it is read-only. Use Clone from the form list when you need a separate editable version; the finalized original remains unchanged.
